AEL-5000 AC/DC Load

The AEL-5000 Series features high-performance electronic loads for both DC and AC applications, supporting frequencies from DC to 40–440 Hz. Operating modes include Constant Current (CC, Linear CC), Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Power (CP), Constant Resistance (CR), and AC Rectifier Load Mode. These units precisely measure voltage, current, power, frequency, crest factor, power factor, and harmonics. A built-in Turbo Mode enables up to twice the current and power for one second—ideal for short-term high-load tests. Key features include adjustable phase angle control (0°–359°), half-cycle loading, and support for SCR/TRIAC waveforms with 90° trailing/leading edge modulation. For three-phase setups, up to three identical units can be synchronized via a Master/Slave interface in star (Y) or delta (Δ) configuration, delivering up to 90 kW total power under centralized control. Optional interfaces—GPIB, RS232, USB, and LAN—ensure flexible integration into automated test environments.

  • AC / DC Load with CC, Linear CC, CR, CV, CP and Rectifier Load Modes
  • Frequency range: DC, 40 – 440Hz
  • Crest factor adjustable range: 1.4 – 5.0
  • Adjustable range of the power factor (PF): 0~1 leading or(-1~0)trailing
  • Optional interface: GPIB, RS232, USB, LAN.
  • Measuring the trigger or break time of the fuse and the circuit breaker.
  • Can be controlled by an external voltage for CC, Linear CC, CR, CP, CV modes.
  • Perform short-circuit simulation (short-circuit time can be set), OCP, OPP
  • Eight units parallel up to 540000W and three phases - A or Y connection can be synchronized through a master unit.
  • Supports SCR / TRIAC current phase modulation waveforms, 90 degree trailing and leading edge
  • Supports the inrush current of the power supply at startup and the overvoltage current test. If the load is suddenly plugged in (hot plug-in).
  • Built-in modes include UPS efficiency, PV inverter efficiency, UPS backup time, battery discharge time, UPS transfer time, fuse/circuit breaker trip/non-trip, short circuit simulation, OCP, OPP, etc.
  • Turbo mode, which can withstand up to twice the current (225A) and power (45KW) load in a short time, most suitable for fuse/circuit breaker and AC power short circuit, OCP, OPP test
  • Support load-on start; first set Load ON to support load-on start, inverter or uninterruptible power supply will directly switch on with the set load current to check whether the starter is stable when the inverter is connected.
  • 150 memory slots for saving/retrieving data
  • Supports charging and discharging angle control; charging and discharging angle control, the entire range of 0-359 degrees can be set to check whether the inverter output voltage transient response is stable when the actual electrical plugging and unplugging, and whether overshoot/undershoot is within the allowable range
  • Supports positive half-cycle or negative half-cycle load; used to verify that the inverter output voltage remains stable when the actual device has only positive half-cycle or negative half-cycle load current.
  • Four measured values can be displayed V/A/W meter, display of voltage (Vrms, Vpeak, Vmax.,Vmin), current (Irms, I Peak, Imax. Imin.) Watt, Voltampere (VA), frequency, Crest Factor, Power Factor, Total Harmonic Distortion of Voltage (VTHD), Voltage Harmonic (VH), Total Harmonic Distortion of Current (ITHD), Current Harmonic (IH) Remote control via a selection of computer interfaces.
